Summer camp in the Idaho mountains could be the rock adventure of a lifetime for twelve-year-old geology buff Casey Buckles. With ice caves and lava tubes, the location offers rare stones galore. But Casey is tempted by more than gemstones at camp.

Local folklore of ancient people hidden within the nearby caves pulls him on a quest. He convinces best friend Felix, an engineering enthusiast, and new friend Ellie, an aspiring legend hunter, to help find the caves. Locating the entrance presents more problems than they bargained for.

After the first of many booby traps, the trio is forced deep into a secret world where migrant clans have kept their existence veiled for centuries. The clans need help. Can three kids—a rock hound, legend hunter, and engineer—save them from evil rule?

Casey risks everything in a fight-for-survival mission through lava tube mazes, dangerous logic puzzles, and deadly creatures.
