What's new in middle grade

These are the most recent middle grade and tween titles to reach Amazon, refreshed as they publish. Children's publishing runs on a seasonal rhythm, so the shape of this page changes through the year: big series installments and award hopefuls land in late summer and early fall, lighter and funnier titles cluster in spring, and illustrated and gift editions arrive in the lead-up to December.

Reading a new-release list well

• New is not the same as reviewed. A book published this week has no library reviews, no word of mouth and no classroom track record. That is fine for a confident reader who will abandon a dud, and less fine if you are buying a gift.
• Check where it sits in its series. A large share of middle grade releases are book six or book eleven of something. We link to the full reading order wherever we have it.
• Publication date drifts. Release dates move, and the ebook, hardback and paperback of the same title often publish months apart, so the same book can appear as "new" more than once.
